  • Watch the winning submission:  What Stigma? by James Keating
Judge’s comments:
A well-crafted documentary which examines issues surrounding stigma and mental health, shot in a visually engaging manner. It combines the voices of experts in the field, along with powerful personal testimony. For a traditionally bleak subject matter, there is also an element of fun, with images from a “nuns day” fundraiser and an event celebrating “mad pride”. There is also practice advice for people suffering from mental health problems, as well as contact information for people seeking additional help or support.
NUI Galway student Sean Dunne’s radio documentary on cyber-bullying was selected as runner-up.
Judge’s comments:
An insightful radio documentary on the effects of cybe-bullying which provides moving individual stories of victims and their parents, along with expert advice. As well as documenting the issue thoroughly, it provides valuable advice to people at risk of cyber-bullying and provides practical examples of how recovery is possible.
